Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

three days...

Three days... till Christmas...
What more can get done...?

What more can be said... about Him...
the Babe who came down like dew...
to teach us... show us... love... and how to...?

He came to bring justice...
fulfill the law... as only He could...
interceding between Creator and created...
He came to make peace...

He not only stands between us and the Father...
He stands between us... and the accuser... the enemy...
the one who condemns...
spews hate... and judgment...
the one who calls for the death penalty...
the one who came only to kill... steal... destroy...

From the time of Job...
the work of the enemy...
always tempered by God...

But now in Christ...
Believers shall have no fear of accusation...
all is cleared...

There is therefore now no condemnation for those
who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life
has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh,
could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness
of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
in order that the righteous requirement of the law might
be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh
but according to the Spirit.
Romans 8:1-4 ESV

The enemy continues to ask permission...
to devour... destroy... demean...
but Jesus stands between him and us...

"Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you,
that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you
that your faith may not fail. And when you have returned again,
strengthen your brothers."
Luke 22:31-32 ESV

The you in this sentence... plural...
Simon Peter... the representative of all Believers...

Jesus intercedes on behalf of our faith...
every action of the enemy...
He uses for a purpose...
to strengthen faith...

God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted
beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also
provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV

Jesus... our escape route... from temptation...
the one who tempers each trial...
for our good... and His glory...

We have no need to fear the enemy...
no time to waste on his accusations...
he is but a tool in the Lord's hands...
to perfect His people...

A day is coming... when the test will be done...
the trial over... the enemy defeated...

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,
"Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God
and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of
the brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them
day and night before our God. And they have conquered him
by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony,
for they loved not their lives even unto death. ..."
Revelation 12:10-11 ESV

Jesus... Intercessor...
strengthening our faith...
through trial... and prayer...

Stand firm...
know your escape route from the enemy...
close your ears to his accusations...
the One on your side... is greater...

Little children, you are from God and have overcome them,
for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
1 John 4:4 ESV

Lord Jesus... thank You for interceding between me and the enemy...
Thank You for all You do... allow... to strengthen my faith...
that I might have a testimony... to encourage others...
