Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

seventeen days...

My daughter told me yesterday...
Did you know it's less than three weeks till Christmas...?!
I said... Don't talk about it...

Yes... it's seventeen days... till Christmas...
let's talk about Him...

He came down like dew... humbly... quietly...
the Word made flesh...
laid in a manger...

May my teaching drop as the rain,
my speech distill as the dew,
like gentle rain upon the tender grass,
and like showers upon the herb.
For I will proclaim the name of the Lord;
ascribe greatness to our God!
Deuteronomy 32:2-3 ESV

The Word made flesh...
God's Word to the world...
His teaching came down...
to prepare the Way for the new...

His gentle teaching...
came forth...
healing the sick...
touching the untouchables...
loving those unlovable...
praying...
story telling...
feeding the hungry...
opening blind eyes...
raising the dead to life...
calming storms with a word...
casting out demons...
forgiving...
praising...
shedding tears...

Many followed him, and he healed all their sick,
warning them not to tell who he was.
This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
"Here is my servant whom I have chosen,
the one I love, in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him,
and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
He will not quarrel or cry out;
no one will hear his voice in the streets.
A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out,
till he leads justice to victory.
In his name the nations will put their hope."
Matthew 12:15-21

His gentle teaching...
came to those who were bruised... smoldering...

His gentle teaching...
came to bring hope...

His gentle teaching...
came as Good News...

Lord Jesus... thank You for Your gentle teaching...
Thank You for receiving the bruised... the smoldering...
the weak... the lame... the blind... the hungry...

Thank You for reminding... that's me...
Fill me with the hope... of Your Good News...
