Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

the only thing you can take with you...

Listening to a message in the car... I heard it...
...the revelation of Christ, the only thing you can exit the earth with.
---Michael Wells, Recognizing God
The only thing we can take with us when we leave this earth...?
Revelation of Christ...

This is why we are born... to get to know Him...
He placed us when and where we are... with the purpose... of finding Him...

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live
on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods
and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should
seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him.
Acts 17:26-27 ESV

Knowing Him is the treasure...

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,
but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither
moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. ..."
Matthew 6:19-21 ESV

This passage has new meaning for me...
I suppose I always assumed the heavenly treasures had to do with our good deeds... but now I see... He is the treasure...

He is our great reward...

...the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:
"Do not be afraid Abram. I am your shield,
your very great reward."
Genesis 15:1

There is no greater reward than knowing Him...
No greater treasure...

"... And this is eternal life, that they know you
the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. ..."
John 17:3 ESV

Eternal life is knowing Him...
Eternal life begins with... and is... revelation of Jesus Christ...!

This is a perspective changer for me...

What about you...?
Does this truth make you reconsider how you should spend your time...?

Nothing else we do... or gain... goes with us when we leave this earth...
Nothing...

The only thing we are taking with us...
is revelation... of... Him...

You will seek Me and find Me
when you search for Me
with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13 HCSB

Where is your treasure...?
