Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

The Journey Readings: Week 68... and remembering who He is...

For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all his work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap;
he puts the deeps in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.
Psalm 33:4-9 ESV

If you need a reminder of who He is...
spend some time in Psalm 33...

Upright... faithful...
Righteous and just...
By the Word... He created...

Yes... there are challenges at times... to seeing who He is...

...the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord...

Sometimes... it's hard to believe...
when the world seems so broken...
that it's filled with His love...
but He says it's there... and by faith... we see... and receive...
the fullness of His steadfast love...

But some reject the idea of God altogether... How can there be a good God...? when there is such pain in the world...?
It's easier for some to cling to a godless universe...
rather than wrestle with the One who spoke all things into existence...

To reject Him as Creator... is to miss who He is...

Let all the earth fear the Lord...
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him...
For He spoke... and it came to be...
He commanded... and it stood firm...

Seasons... months... days...
repeat... and refrain...
His love... and mercy...

The grace of giving us just one more hour...
when the cycle of brokenness and pain began with us...
is more than we deserve...

His love displayed... through time...
waiting on more hearts to turn...

Yes... the earth is full... of His steadfast love...
for those who see... know... and remember...
who He is...
