Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

a different start to the day...

I started this morning differently... not with a devotional... but with one to whom I'm devoted...

My daughter... already up and about before daylight... stressing a bit about a recent decision... we talked...

A moment of discipling happened... mother to daughter... sister to sister...

Looking back... I see a different attitude to take with my adult children in general...

Believing adult children... are not just children... they are disciples in training...

And it makes me wonder about a son... Perhaps he needs more discipling than parenting...

Thinking about what that looks like... hoping it may bring us closer... looking for an opportunity to bring up the subject...

"... Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe
all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always,
to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:19-20 ESV

The nations include our children too...

Lord... grateful You are with me always...
Bless me with words... and inspiration...
to connect with my children... as part of a community disciples...
and not just my children...
