Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

He presses... not panics...

He presses...
He doesn't panic...

So when panic tries to take hold...
in the middle of finishing up...
I resist... I question Him...

Do You want me to leave...? or is this just a distraction...?

Before He answers... I remember... remind myself...
He is a God of peace...

When His pressing comes...
it comes with peace...
never panic...

So I press on...
through the panic...
finishing what I intended...

Peace returns...

Then the phone rings... offering an opportunity to serve a loved one... a blessing I would have missed... had I run...

And I see the enemy at work...
as if He lifted a veil... to show the unseen...

The enemy watches all... takes note... sees what he can stir up... where he can distract... disturb... distress...

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around
like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Resist him, stand firm in your faith...
1 Peter 5:8 ESV

Don't let that demon devour your peace...
steal an opportunity to bless...
move you from where you need to be...

Panic is never from Him...

Press on...

Question...

Wait...

For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness,
but one of power, love, and sound judgment.
2 Timothy 1:7 HCSB
