Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

wondering... about grace...

Wondering... about grace...
and whether I was a picture of it today...
in the Bible class full of fourth graders...

When a simple word game to earn a ticket for a chance to win a prize... turns hearts to cheating... and lying... is it grace to discipline...? or overlook the offense...?

I'm wrestling with my hard core stance today...
hard core to the point of taking back a ticket given...

Can discipline be grace...?
Can exposing sin...? be grace...?

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
and we have seen his glory, glory as of the Son from the Father
full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 ESV

Jesus... the One we are to emulate when it comes to grace... also came full of truth...

Truth called for the accusers to examine their own hearts... Let him who is without sin... be the first to throw a stone...

The accused adulteress... experienced the grace of forgiveness poured out... but she also received truth... Go... and from now on sin no more...

So I'm wondering... Where on the spectrum... did I fall today...? when it comes to... grace vs. legalism...? truth vs. complacency...?

Was I a picture of grace today...?
Lord... only You know... graciously reveal the truth...
that I might know better... and do better...
Amen...
