Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

The Journey Readings: Week 100... and encouragement in the face of judgment...

God doles out judgment and punishment on His rebellious people... but He offers encouragement in the same breath...

With darkness on the horizon... He announces the coming Light...

They will pass through the land, greatly distressed and hungry.
And when they are hungry, they will be enraged and will speak
contemptuously against their king and their God, and turn their
faces upward. And they will look to the earth, but behold,
distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish.
And they will be thrust into thick darkness.

But there  will be no gloom for her who was in anguish.
In the former time he brought into contempt the land of
Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the latter time
he has made glorious the way of the sea, the land beyond
the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;
those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness,
on them has light shined.

Isaiah 8:21-9:2 ESV

Pronounced through His prophet... both judgment... and encouragement...

He is just and merciful... He has the Way in place to bring salvation... eternal redemption... to all His people... and He wants them to know...

The time of darkness... judgment... comes to pass...
it will not last forever... Light is coming...

He gives His people encouragement in the face of judgment...
