Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

learning to rest... in His way... not mine...

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV

His way... it's hardly ever the way we would do things...
and at times... it's a struggle to rest in His way...

I see the tears...
hear the crack in the voice...
feel my own frustration...
of those...and me... trying to trust in His way...
rest in what He's up to...

He tells us plainly...
My thoughts... are not yours...
My ways... are not yours...
I'm greater...

So why are we surprised...?
when things don't go our way...?
the way we think they should...?

Really... it's time to rest...
rest in His sovereignty...
His love...
His way which is so much higher... greater...
trusting Him... to fulfill what He promises...
in His time... and His way...

It's a lesson for a lifetime...
learning to trust... in His way...
not mine...
