Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

The Journey Readings: Week 44... and the gospel...

And again, as was [Jesus's] custom, he taught them.
Mark 10:1 ESV

Jesus's primary custom... and concern... was teaching...

You know what He taught...?

The Gospel... the Good News of the Kingdom of God...

Now after John was arrested and put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee,
preaching the good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom of God,
And saying, The [appointed period of] time is fulfilled (completed),
and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent (have a change of mind
which issues in regret for past sins and in change of conduct
for the better) and believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to)
the good news (the Gospel).
Mark 1:14-15 Amp

From the beginning of His public ministry... His message was... the Gospel...

I wonder what that looked like... Him still in the midst of bringing it all to fruition... it not being quite here... but near... to be sure...

Clearly... the encouragement to repent... to recognize sin in our lives... and a need for forgiveness was part of the teaching...

The understanding for the need to trust in... believe... rely on... God's Word... His Way... for salvation... was key...

But did He say...? It's Me...
Did He point to Himself...? saying... I am the Good News...

This last week teaching Bible to fourth graders...
I discovered not one... could tell me what the Good News... aka the Gospel... was...

And I wonder... Can I share it clearly with others...?
Can you...?

It's definitely something we need to be clear on...
something we express not only through our life...
but by our words when asked...

This week... I'm definitely going to spend some time seeking a way to get the message clearly to fourth graders...

The deal is... if we don't know what He's done for us...
if we don't know something of His loving sacrifice...
so we might live...
we won't get it...
we won't share it...
and we won't live... the abundant life of promise...
