Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

and it came to pass...

I learned a lesson this weekend...
seeking His presence...
as things went awry in my little world...

No hot water...
septic tank issues...
a checkbook that wouldn't balance...

None of these issues were resolved over the weekend...

In the midst of all... I continued the spiritual discipline of seeking His presence... trying to rest in Him... trying to listen... seeking His peace...

Monday...
hot water...
a checkbook balanced...
a septic tank cared for...

None of these were my doing...
all things out of my control...
all things He provided someone else to fix...

Then I realized...
it came to pass...

All trials...
He uses to refine our character...

How will you deal with an empty propane tank...?
a septic tank you're not sure is doing the job...?
or an error you can't find on your own...?

Will you trust He's in it...?
Will you trust Him to provide...?
Will you trust He is using each incident for your good...?

For this light momentary affliction
is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory
beyond all comparison, as we look not
to the things that are seen but to the things
that are unseen. For the things that are seen
are transient, but the things that are unseen
are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 ESV

And it came to pass...
trials...
turmoil...
trouble...
in order to refine and grow character...
they come... they go...
we pass through them...

All for His glory...
