Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

a new stance...

God has challenged me to a new stance...
one different than my usual pessimistic one...
different than the expect nothing... in case you're disappointed stance...

He has called me to a stance of ... joyful expectancy...

I'm not to have expectations... those are the things that lead to disappointment... breakdown relationships...

Expectancy... isn't sure what's coming... but knows something is... because God's at work...

Joyful expectancy... waits... knowing He is only up to good...

In yesterday's grumpiness I failed to recognize Him near... working...
I failed to trust Him with where He has me...
I let emotions... rule...

A reading last night for Bible study reminded me...
We might not see any hope at all right in front of us. We have dozens of reasons to give up or check out of life. It's too hard, too painful, too disappointing --- the returns are meager. ... These are the days when we live off the joy and hope of His Spirit alone.
His presence in our midst is enough. His Spirit raises dead people up from the cold ground; His Spirit can erect a door when all we can see in front of us are miles and miles of walls.
---Melissa Moore, Breath
This is the reason for taking a stance of joyful expectancy...

My Spirit remains in your midst. Fear not.
Haggai 2:5 ESV

Putting aside expectation... I choose to trust Him... and wait with... joyful expectancy...

For nothing is impossible with God.
Luke 1:37
