Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

seeing... shabbat shalom...

I have a friend...
a brother in Christ...
he's dying...
checked into Hospice last week...
nothing more man can do...

I had the privilege of visiting him this weekend...
ended up being part of my Sabbath...

I'd asked God earlier in the day...
What does Shabbat Shalom look like...?
what's the heart...? the attitude...?
of living... Shabbat Shalom...?

I didn't know what to expect when I visited...
but what I saw...
was... Shabbat Shalom...

In the midst of dying...
this brother stuck in bed...
tubes in... tubes out...
body failing...
was perfectly at rest... shabbat...
and perfect in peace... shalom...

My friend... fully trusting in the Lord of the Sabbath...
the Lord of our Rest...

In Him we are to rest our whole life...
every aspect...
the living...
the dying...

My friend... wholly at peace...
trusting in the Prince of Peace... fully...

In Him we are to let Christ's peace rule in our hearts...
knowing we are at peace with Him...
brings peace to all of life...

Shabbat Shalom...
resting in Christ...
as our source of peace...

So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God,
for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works
as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest...
Hebrews 4:9-11 ESV

Father God... grow me...
to live Shabbat Shalom...
every day...
