Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

giving a Word... to be...

A prayer cast up during a pause in conversation... placed on hold... I said...

Lord... give me the Word needed... to share...

A phone call... from a beloved child... needing a sounding board... struggling... anxious... distressed... about emotions... and the future...

Already more than thirty minutes in... sharing feelings... thoughts... I hear...

I'm looking for something solid...

This child standing in the shadow of the unknown... the squishy... feeling impatient... looking for a firm place to stand...

The Word... it came to mind... unsure if it fit perfectly... I shared...

Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming.
See how the farmer waits for the land to yield
its valuable crop and how patient he is
for the autumn and spring rains.
You too, be patient and stand firm,
because the Lord's coming is near.
James 5:7-8

Along with advice... commit it to God... wait for clear direction...

The response...

Now, that's solid...

So today... the son is a farmer... waiting... standing firm... for God to grow... the future...

There is only One solid place to stand... and that's Him...

I thank God... for the Word to share... that brought a firm place to stand... in the midst of unchanging circumstances...

I thank God... for a Word to give... a Word made flesh... in the life of a loved one...

How about you... are you willing... to ask for a Word... when the opportunity arises... to give to others... who struggle... to help them stand firm... in whatever... circumstances...?

Be in the Word... not only for yourself... but for loved ones... that you might... be the Word...

Dear Lord... help me to continue to give a Word... make the way for the Word to be flesh... in the lives of those I love...
