Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

a Word for the weary...

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,
as working for the Lord, not for men.
Colossians 3:23

A Word for the day... one sent to a son... growing weary of work... emailed as encouragement... early this morning...

Only I didn't know... it was a Word for me too... one I received a glimpse of this afternoon... in the flesh... lived it... for a moment...

The third day... of hosting showers... for youth on mission...

The third day... of cleaning showers... and bathrooms after...

The third day... the middle of a week... of showers... the halfway... where weariness... creeps in...

Crouched down... cleaning the second shower floor... a heart on the verge of a grumble... the Word... it comes...

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,
as working for the Lord, not for men.

And then it came into view... these youth... and their leader... these seven... they have worked for others... who needed help... giving up summer vacation... paying to work... for others who will NEVER be able to return... or repay... what has been done for them... sharing the gospel... along the way...

These... they are... the hands and feet... of Jesus... the Lord...!

The load lightened... joy returned...

I am working for the LORD... not men... cleaning up after Jesus... His Body... a privilege... a blessing... to serve... Him...

Lord... continue to open my eyes... to how I work for You... in every situation or circumstance... that I might work with all my heart... for You...
