Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

embracing... hard...

Sometimes God leads us the hard way instead of the easy way, because He is doing a work in us. How will we ever learn to lean on Him, if everything in our lives is so easy that we can handle it by ourselves?
---Joyce Meyers, Battlefield of the Mind

OK... I don't like hard... and sometimes... everything feels hard...

And... yes... at times... God leads us into the wilderness... where it's hard... dry... dusty...

It's hard for me... to see past me... being self-conscious... rather than Christ-conscious... makes obedience... hard...

Then today I realized... when He blesses obedience... it's still hard...

When [Jesus] had finished speaking, he said to Simon,
"Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch."
Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night
and haven't caught anything. But because you say so,
I will let down the nets."
When they had done so, they caught such a large number
of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their
partners in the other boat to come and help them,
and they came and filled both boats so full
that they began to sink.
Luke 5:4-6
(emphasis added)

Obeying the call... to put out deep... leaves you with nets so full... they break... and the boat begins to sinks...!

Every casting out... requires a pulling up... which is hard...

But wouldn't you rather have the hard of a blessing... than the hard of a curse..?

See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse ---
Deuteronomy 11:26

It's time... to embrace... hard...

Because... until He returns... remakes... renews...
it's all hard... and in Him... it's all good...
