Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

abiding... yielding... fruit...

What the Word says about... fruit...

Recognizing... the spiritual fruit... of abiding...

The fruit of righteousness will be peace;
The effect of righteousness will be quietness
and confidence forever.
Isaiah 32:27

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23

...for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness,
righteousness and truth...
Ephesians 5:9

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually
offer to God a sacrifice of praise
--- the fruit of lips that confess his name.
Hebrews 13:15

Producing... spiritual fruit...

Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
Psalm 1:1-3

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
proclaiming, "The Lord is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him."
Psalm 92:12-15

Sow for yourselves righteousness,
reap the fruit of unfailing love,
and break up your unplowed ground;
for it is time to seek the Lord,
until he comes and showers righteousness on you.
Hosea 10:12

God gets the glory...

"...This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit,
showing yourselves to be my disciples. ..."--Jesus
John 15:8

...filled with the fruit of righteousness
that comes through Jesus Christ
--- to the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 1:11

A prayer... for fruit...

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
Colossians 1:9-12

Fruit... love... joy... peace... patience... kindness... goodness... gentleness... faithfulness... self-control... righteousness... truth... praise...

Cultivated... with... discernment... delight... meditation... breaking up unplowed ground...

Glorifying... Him...

Thus by their fruit you will recognize them.
Matthew 7:20
