Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

seeking silence...

All seems noisy... in my head and heart...

Driving along... listening to an audiobook...
my thoughts interfere... and I can't hear...!

With a few extra minutes...
sitting in the car...
engine running
heater blowing...
rain pattering on the roof...
I sit seeking silence...

Not absence of external noise...
but absence of inner noise...
the silence of a quiet spirit...
is what I seek...
the place where He can be heard...

Finally...
the quiet descends...
heart stills...
spirit opens...
to listen...

How are you at seeking silence lately...? are your thoughts... heart... spirit... too noisy...?

Find a still place...
sit...
be still...
settle into His presence...
listen...

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
Psalm 63:1 NIV
