Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

The Journey Readings: Week 126... and building a sanctuary...

David commanded his son Solomon with these words... when he commissioned him... at the Lord's instruction... to build the house of God...

Now set your mind and heart to seek (inquire of
and require as your vital necessity) the Lord your God.
Arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God...
1 Chronicles 22:19 Amp

As Believers...
we need to take this charge personally...
seeking Him... requiring Him...
in order to build His sanctuary...

Do you not know that you are God's temple
and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 3:16 ESV

Jesus made the way for the Holy Spirit to live... abide... reside... in the hearts of Believers...

We are the church... His sanctuary... His Body...

From the moment of conversion...
we are to set our minds... hearts... in seeking the Lord...
requiring Him as our vital necessity...

This is the process of building His sanctuary...
preparing our lives as a holy place... set apart for Him...

Each day we need to arise... and approach our lives as a building project... for His glory... living every moment... for His renown...

Yes... it's a slow process...
requiring time in His Word... in prayer...
obedience to His direction...
willing to sweep clean whatever dark corner He reveals in our hearts...

We will not be finished... till He returns...
there will always be work to do...
in the sanctification process...

But we will know His presence... receive confirmation of the work He is doing... when He accepts our humble offerings... as living sacrifices... with fire...

And David built there an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings
and peace offerings and called upon the Lord; and He answered him
by fire from heaven upon the altar of burnt offering.
1 Chronicles 21:26 Amp

The fire... passion... power... of the Holy Spirit... will become more active... visible... in our lives... with each act of obedience... each sacrifice... each offering... of worship...

You are His temple...
We are His temple...
All of us together... His dwelling place...
Let's build each of our individual hearts...
into an acceptable place for His presence...
that we might glorify Him... in all we do...

As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men
but in the sight of God chosen and precious,
you yourselves like living stones are being built up
as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood,
to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God
through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:4-5 ESV
