Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

pursuing excellence...

A morning spent pursuing excellence in something new...

Excellence does not come easy... many dimensions to consider... intentionality must be exercised... anticipating every aspect of the outcome with each decision in every dimension... staying focused to the end... intentionally finishing each step...

Excellence... requires... diligence...

The Journey through Leviticus has me tuned in to excellence... the pursuit of holiness...

Eyes drawn to all the sins committed unwittingly... and the realization that each of these sins... no matter how unintentional... still creates a debt... a price has to be paid... always with blood...

And the Lord said to Moses, Say to the Israelites, If anyone shall sin through error or unwittingly in any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, and shall do any one of them --- If it is the anointed priest who sins, thus bringing guilt on the people, then let him offer for his sin which he has committed a young bull without blemish to the Lord as a sin offering. He shall bring the bull to the door of the Tent of Meeting before the Lord, and shall lay [both] hands on the bull's head and kill it before the Lord.
Leviticus 4:1-4 Amp
(emphasis added)

If the whole congregation of Israel sins unintentionallyand it be hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done what the Lord has commanded not to be done and are guilty, When the sin which they have committed becomes known, then the congregation shall offer a young bull for a sin offering and bring it before the Tent of Meeting. The elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bull before the Lord, and the bull shall be killed before the Lord.
Leviticus 4:13-15 Amp
(emphasis added)

When a ruler or leader sins and unwittingly does any one of the things the Lord his God has forbidden, and is guilty, If his sin which he has committed be known to him, he shall bring as his offering a goat, a male without blemish. He shall lay his hand on the head of the goat and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the Lord; it is a sin offering.
Leviticus 4:22-24 Amp
(emphasis added)

If any one of the common people sins unwittingly... When the sin which he has committed is made known to him, he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed. The offender shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and kill it at the place of the burnt offering.
Leviticus 4:27-29 Amp
(emphasis added)

Unwitting... unintentional... sin... and understanding... its weight... has me desiring the pursuit of excellence... in every area of my life... and I see the need to be more intentional... in what I say... do... think... whether it's something new... or something I've been doing a long time... like being a wife (for 28 years this Saturday)...

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed,
do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:17

Pursuing excellence... in His most excellent name...

O Lord, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth...
Psalm 8:1 NKJV

Where in your life do you need to be intentional... about pursuing excellence...?
