Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

brokenness...

Brokenness... I've seen more than a little the last day or so...

And I remember...

The Lord is near the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18 ESV

He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3 ESV

Jesus majors in broken... He says...

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of prison to those who are bound...
Isaiah 61:1 ESV

Brokenness longs for good news... and the Good News is good... when we embrace our brokenness...

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. ..."
---Jesus
Matthew 5:3-6 ESV

So is it possible... to receive that which breaks us... as a blessing...?
Can we believe He is the One who works all things for good in the lives of those who love Him...?
Do you love Him enough to trust Him... with the pain He allows...?
Are you willing... to walk with Him... through this world... remembering it is not your home...?
Can you trust Him... to provide the strength... to hold you together...?

Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
Psalm 84:5

Lord... in brokenness... I choose to trust You... Your plan...
Your purpose... Your grace... mercy... and love...

But we have this treasure in jars of clay,
so show that the surpassing power belongs to God
and not to us.
2 Corinthians 4:7 ESV
