Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

cling... a word that catches... [from January 13, 2013]

This morning... in my preparation for the day... I came across a verse... that stuck... a verse that prompted the deeper study... of a single word...

My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.
Psalm 63:8

cling... a sticky word...

The Hebrew... dabaq... defined... to cling... cleave to... to stay with... to be joined together... to pursue closely...

What does it look like... for a soul... to cling...?

Merriam-Webster... paints this picture... to hold together... to adhere as if glued firmly... to hold or hold on to tightly or tenaciously... to have a strong emotional attachment or dependence...

But... what does it look like...?

Love... compels us to cling... with both hands... and all of self...

We can only cling... to one thing at a time...
A soul that clings to God...
lets go of everything else...
including... control...
the soul who clings to God...
goes wherever... He goes...

But... our strength... alone...
is not enough... to cling...
powers pull... try to tear us away...
so He... with His right hand... upholds... us...
His strength... makes it possible... for a soul to cling...

When we desire... to be near... to pursue... tenaciously...
He... makes... it... possible...

My soul clings to You...
Your right hand upholds me...

Is it your desire... to have a soul... that clings... to Him...?
What do you have to let go of... to cling...?
