Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

waking to darkness...

This morning I woke to darkness... even earlier than usual...

Feeling fully rested... with much to do... I started my day...

More than three hours later... after my usual routine... exiting the bedroom fully dressed for the day... the sunrise streamed in the front windows... a stark contrast to the dark that I had awakened to... the thoughts began to stir...

The morning's treadmill read... began to come to mind...
Jesus commissioned us to go into that same world and to shine his light in the darkness so that others may be rescued and set free.
And yet we slumber. We sleep.
When Jesus said to go into all the world (Matthew 28:19), he didn't mean to wait until morning, or until you get the right job, or find the perfect spouse, or have raised the kids right, or have your house in order, or find a spare weekend. Christ brought us light in the darkness so that we can reach everyone living a nightmare now. He longs to shake us awake so that we can shout out the truth --- that humankind is made for eternity but trapped in time, and time is running out. He means for us to find and rescue others because we know what it is to be lost and then found, hurting and then healed.
--- Christine Caine, Undaunted
What Jesus calls us to do... is... wake to the darkness...

As Believers... standing in light... perhaps we've forgotten what it was like to be lost... or maybe... you're one who is still lost... thinking you're found... but not... (I used to be one...)

Jesus calls us to wake to our own darkness... places we've not allowed Him to bring His light...

We need to wake to the darkness of others... to bring His Light...

Spiritually... when we are awakened... it is always... to the dark...

When we wake up... realizing the depth of the darkness... in our lives... and others... then we begin... to long for His Light... in our own lives... and carry His Light... to others...

"...I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me, should stay in darkness. ..." ---Jesus
John 12:46

Have you wakened... to the dark...?

The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber...
Romans 13:11
