Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

for His glory... rich or poor...

The same day I read...

...there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, "You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land."
Deuteronomy 15:10-11
ESV (emphasis mine)

I read about generosity in The Good and Beautiful Community... three false narratives revealed...

Judgment... God helps those who help themselves...
Scarcity... If I give it away, I have less...
Entitlement... What I have is mine to use for my own pleasure...

Each a lie... deception...

God in His Sovereignty allows disparity...

...there will never cease to be poor in the land...

In His wisdom... God uses ALL THINGS for His glory... teaching... testing... growing...

Not all are poor because of sinful choices...
Not all are rich because they are righteous...

Rich and poor have this in common:
The Lord is the Maker of them all.
Proverbs 22:2

All created for His Glory... His purpose...

Those with... will you give without judging? ... will you give without fear? ...will you recognize what you have is not yours for your glory but for God's?

Those without... will you live in fear, wondering where you have displeased God? ...will you be thankful for the purpose He has for you? ... will you live without envy?

All is for His glory...

How can you bring glory to God from what you have... or don't have?
