Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

a call to rest

Rest...

The word quietly echoes through my spirit... a call to temporarily rest from a call... a spiritual discipline...

Is it possible? Does God call us to rest in the middle of a discipline? My flesh is torn between the desire to be released (even though temporarily)... to ... I can't -- it wouldn't be perfect... a legalistic bent...

Rest...

A fear of mis-hearing... What if that's not the Spirit, but my desire to be set free?... What if it's the enemy deceiving?

Rest...

Did the Father call Jesus to rest during His call... His thirty year ministry?

A time of rest with family and friends...
A rest from healing and freeing...
A rest from being emptied of divinity...

Calls to rest accompany the call... calls to break routine... calls to solitude... calls to be filled...

This is Yours God... the only reason I carry on the discipline is to know You... serve You... worship You... it is Your call...

I choose to trust... I choose to rest...

"Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice..."
1Samuel 15:22

Have you been called to rest?
Are you resisting? Why?
