Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

fast

A fast... a way to remember... a spiritual discipline... abstaining from food... or a certain activity...

A fast helps us to hold fast to God: Father, Son, and Spirit... an activity... or lack of an activity... that helps us remember...

A fast turns our focus to God... something intentional... something different... when we miss what we usually have, we remember who we are doing it for...

"... But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." -- Jesus
Matthew 6:17-18

unseen... in secret... roots dig deep into the ground... unseen...

Our personal spiritual disciplines...
fasting...
prayer...
study of the Word...
grow roots in the unseen... grounding our faith...

Done in secret... what God calls us to do... for God only... not to lift ourselves up above others... not to feed pride... in secret... unseen... only to your Father... He sees...

A way to remember... holding fast... rooted in faith... fast...
