Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

rest in Him... not in work...

What has a man for all the toil and striving of heart
with which he toils beneath the sun?
For all his days are full of sorrow, and his work is a vexation.
Even in the night his heart does not rest. This also is vanity.
Ecclesiastes 2:22-23 ESV

Work... when we work for ourselves...
it's toil and strife... sorrow and vexation...

I listen to a loved one...
successful in business...
but vexed... full of complaints...
his heart not at rest...

Working solely for self...
leaves one restless...
no matter how much you make...
no matter how well you do what you do...
it's all vanity...

I listen with sorrow...
wonder at the way he works to fill the void...
and pray he'll begin to work for Him...
view the world from an eternal perspective...
finding rest in work... and life...

Jesus says... Take my yoke upon you... learn from me...
and you will find rest for your soul...

Soul rest is what we seek...
and it's only found in working for Him...

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward.
Colossians 3:23 ESV
