Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

The Journey Readings: Week 84... and hard words...

Hard words... fill the readings of Kings...
words that wrench hearts...
words that confound...

When Athaliah the mother of [King] Ahaziah [of Judah]
saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed
all the royal descendants.
2 Kings 11:1 Amp

Yes... a grandmother killed all her grandchildren... in the pursuit of power...

Kings who did evil in the sight of the Lord...

Ahaz was twenty years old when he began his sixteen-year reign
in Jerusalem. He did not do right in the sight of the Lord his God,
like David his [forefather]. But he walked in the ways of Israel's
kings, yes, and made his son pass through the fire [and offered
him as a sacrifice], in accordance with the abominable
[idolatrous] practices of the [heathen] nations whom the Lord
drove out before the Israelites.
2 Kings 16:2-3 Amp

Atrocities of Israelite against Israelite... conspiring to be king...

Then Menahem smote Tiphsah and all who were in it
and its territory from Tirzah on; he attacked it because
they did not open to him. And all the women there
who were with child he ripped up.
2 Kings 15:16 Amp

pregnant women gutted...

Yes... there are hard words to read in Scripture...

His truth reflects the truth of the world...
a world ravaged by sin and rebellion...
a world far from Him...

The hardest words of all for me...
come from Believers who... Uggh... Groan... Moan...
over His Word...
because it is hard to read...

But it is His Word...
words to be treasured... studied... pondered...
even the hard... the painful... the confusing...
it's all His...

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching,
for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV

Don't miss a word... just because it feels hard... or seems hard to read...
Invite Him to read with you...
to teach... lead... translate... hard words...

It's never too late to begin The Journey...
