Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

beware settling... for where you are...

Israel settled down and remained...
Numbers 25:1 Amp

Settling down... sounds good to most of us...

We long for routine...

Knowing what's next... brings a sense of security...

Change can be exhausting...

The problem with Israel's choice to settle... was that they were on a journey... and not yet to the end...

They had not reached the Promised Land... the place where God was leading them...

This settling down happened in the fortieth year of their wanderings... so close to the end... they settled for where they were...

Israel settled down and remained in Shittim,
and the people began to play the harlot
with the daughters of Moab...
Numbers 25:1 Amp

Israel settled... and in the settling came temptation...

The same is true for us...

When we stop moving forward with God... when we settle for where we are... and fail to pursue all He has promised... we set ourselves up to be led astray...

Beware settling for where you are... in your faith... in your relationship with Him... in your life...

Settling leads to distraction... unbelief... and doubt...

He is true to His Word... continue to seek... remember you are on a journey......

Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
Psalm 84:5
