Life change is as simple as changing our choices, and transformation is fully possible when we form our decisions differently --- form them into the image of Christ.
---Ann Voskamp, One Thousand Gifts DevotionalTransformation... it's the foundation of freedom... and is based on the way we make choices... form decisions...
How did Jesus... make decisions...?
Really... He only made one choice... to do whatever His Father willed...
"...For I have come down from heaven, not to do My will,
but the will of Him who sent Me. ..." ---Jesus
John 6:38 HCSB
He only did what the Father did...
Then Jesus replied, "I assure you: The Son is not able to do anything on His own, but only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does these things in the same way...."
John 5:19 HCSB
He only said what the Father said...
So Jesus said to them, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me. ..."
John 8:28 ESV
To be a disciple of Jesus... is to choose as He did... and to do so freely... freely losing your life... laying down your rights... your emotions and desires... for His Father's...
"... Whoever finds his life will lose it,
and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. ..."
Matthew 10:39
Jesus allowed Father God to lead Him on the path of freedom... that He might make the way for us... to be freed from the slavery of sin and death...
He forged the Way... that we might follow Him... through the wilderness...
And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry.
Luke 4:1-2 ESV
...or head on into a war...
And he came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him. And when he came to the place, he said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation." And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done." And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling to the ground.
Luke 22:39-44 ESV
Life changing freedom... comes in the form of one choice...
Not my will... but Yours be done...
