Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

real life

You just need to do all you can while you can, because you just never know when you won't be able to do any more.

She said it in reference to her grown daughter... and all her activities and travel...

She... a friend recently widowed... after nearly 63 years of marriage... left at a loss... about life... Living in a nursing home... feeling half dead herself...

But to me... her advice didn't sound quite right... all the activity of the flesh... the things of this world... they aren't really life...

After I left her... a verse came to mind...

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing.
The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
John 6:63

Jesus's words about real life... it's not found in the flesh... in this world... it's found in Him... in the Spirit...

Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. ...
John 6:26

Real life... eternal life... is in Christ Jesus... and the doing we should do is the doing He calls us to... the acts of faith... the dying to self... the loving of neighbors... and enemies...

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Matthew 5:6

This kind of living... real living... happens wherever you are... wherever He has placed you... for however long He has placed you there...

For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:3

Lord... continue to remind me that real life is in You... abiding in You for Your glory... by faith... I want to do all I can... for You... as long as I can...
