Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

more inside out

...from the inside out... I read it again today, in a waiting room. It caught my attention...

In particular, when people believed the message, they discovered a strange new energy inside themselves -- a warm, disturbing, personal presence which enabled them to do new things, which put new ideas into their heads, which motivated and energized them to become different people from the inside out.
--- NT Wright, Hebrews for Everyone (emphasis mine)

 ... from the inside out...

The way God works... what He cares most about... the inside...

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. ..."  ---Jesus
Matthew 23:27-28
ESV
Inside... we find motive...

Inside... where we wrestle with God... the Spirit...

Inside... where transformation begins...

I wonder... what am I to look for... in others... in myself...?

Dear Lord... help me to remember...
You work from the inside out...
help me to remember what I see on the outside...
is not necessarily what's on the inside...
Help me to pay attention to the inside... more than the outside...
