A day with my daughter... her concern for the dogs turned into an unplanned trip to the vet... (rabies shots due anyway...)
Daughter's desire to plan dinners for the week... my input required... recipes to be found... grocery list to be made...
A call from the doctor... follow up on a complication from daughter's oral surgery... still a problem... another unexpected appointment... a trip to town... (we needed to go to the store anyway... all those groceries to buy...)
Hours later... home... groceries put away... dinner begun... another request... Mom... do you have time to watch a show with me...? Yes... of course... my college daughter... (who's hardly home anymore...) of course I have time...

My day... not my own... my plans... put aside... laid down... for love...
The request to pray... brought back to mind... Yes... I will lay down my life for a friend...
