Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

The Journey Readings: Week 76... and His steadfast love...

This last week in the Psalms... I see reminders of His steadfast love... translated from the Hebrew word... hesed...
hesed... A higher form of love, involving loyalty, steadfastness, and kindness... Hesed is not an emotional response to beauty, merit, or kindness but rather a moral attitude dedicated to another's good, whether or not that other is lovable, worthy, or responsive...
---Tyndale Bible Dictionary
A short psalm... only two verses... paints a clear reminder... of His hesed...

Praise the Lord, all nations!
Extol Him, all peoples!
For great is his steadfast love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 117 ESV

Reminded of His great love for all...
all nations...
all peoples...
great is His steadfast love toward us all...

For God so love the world, that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 ESV

Jesus... the ultimate revelation of God's hesed...
impartial...
compassionate...
merciful...
faithful...

Find out more about Him... come along on The Journey...
