Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

Romans 8... day 13...

So then, brothers, we are debtors,
not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
Romans 8:12 ESV

Another translation says this a little clearer...

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation ---
but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.
Romans 8:12 NIV

Yes... we are debtors... ones who owe another...
but this obligation is not to the flesh...

In Christ... we now belong to Him...

...for you were bought with a price.
1 Corinthians 6:20 ESV

We no longer owe our flesh anything...
we are not obligated to give in to carnal cravings...
desires... or... emotions...

We do not have to live according to the flesh...

Don't listen when someone tells you...
Go ahead... you owe it to yourself...

No... you don't...!
Your self... is the one who leads you to death...

For when we were in the realm of the flesh,
the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us,
so that we bore fruit for death.
Romans 7:5 NIV

We are free... to live according to the Spirit...
Free to pursue Him... into everlasting... life...

... So glorify God in your body...
1 Corinthians 6:20 ESV
