Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

He divides light from darkness...

"And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness." --- Genesis 1:4
What He began from the first day of creation... He continues today... in every Believer...

He is the Light... and when He enters the Believer... He begins the process of dividing... separating... light... from... darkness...
evil from good...
right from wrong...
truth from deception...

We are called to walk in the light... as He is in the light...

...for at one time you were darkness,
but now you are light in the Lord.
Walk as children of light...
Ephesians 5:8 ESV

His work of sanctification... is the process of shining His light... into our dark... and removing it...

The same process He will ultimately use through all creation... dividing... all darkness... from all light...

And I saw no temple in the city,
for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb.
And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it,
for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.
Revelation 21:22-23 ESV

Jesus is the life and light of men...

All things were made through him,
and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
John 1:3-4 ESV

He came to show us the light... through His fullness of grace... and truth...

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
and we have seen his glory,
glory as of the only Son from the Father,
full of grace and truth.
John 1:14 ESV

Grace... brings the light of freedom... and joy...

Truth... brings the light of knowledge... and freedom from deception...

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying,
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me
will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12 ESV

Each of us walking in His light... should be growing in both grace... and... truth...

During the course of my day... I heard division mentioned as a bad thing... yet I wonder... If it is a division of light... from darkness... is it bad...? or necessary...?

For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness?
Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
2 Corinthians 6:14 ESV

Myself... I long for Him to continue... dividing... light from darkness... in me...

As painful as the process may be... I look forward to being like Him... full of grace... and... truth...
