Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

more on... self-pruning...

The self-pruning... of sanctification... is not really... self-pruning...

It is more of an acknowledgment... a cry for help... a prayer...

The Gardener prunes... and knows what needs to be removed... but in our growth... toward holiness... we watch... and recognize... the emotions... desires... will... which are not in agreement with His... those that lead to disobedience...

The "self-pruning" happens... sort of... when we willingly stop... resist... and cry out in prayer... Help... Father this is not a place I want to go... Help me resist...

It is in this prayer... this not falling into the desire... the emotion... recognizing the wildness erupting... and choosing to stop and pray... calling on the Father... to prune... encourage... provide strength... to die to self...  that we prune... cut off... self...

Watching... resisting... praying... the self... asking for a pruning...

So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.
1 Thessalonians 5:6
