Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

learning... grace...

Learning to abide... bearing what Jesus wants to bear through me... the practice of asking... What fruit...? has brought me... to...

GRACE

Jesus... He wants to bear grace... in a place... circumstance... that's hard for me...

Lord... teach me... I can't... but You can...

GRACE... it is a gift... an undeserved gift... unmerited favor...

The world... it teaches... gift those who deserve... those who please...

While grace... an unnatural... gift... says...

...love your enemies, do good to them, and lend without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
Luke 6:35

Grace... the Greek... charis... defined...
that which affords joy, pleasure, delight... good will, loving-kindness, favor... of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues...
--- Enhanced Strong's Lexicon

Definitely what is needed... but I find no joy... in the grace to be offered... pulled by legalism... to punish... for choices made...

Still... willingly... I choose to learn... I can't... but You can...

Grace... a gift... something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation... nothing received in return... no expectations... no strings... not even a "thank you" required...

God's grace... a gift offered to every evil... unbelieving... ungrateful... person in this world... whom He... by His grace... lets continue to live in this world of amazing bounty... and doesn't kick them off the planet...

He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good,
and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Matthew 5:45

He treats us all impartially... good and evil... pouring out His abundance on all...

For Christ died for sins once for all,
the righteous for the unrighteous,
to bring you to God.
1 Peter 3:18

Me... a recipient... of grace... an unmerited... undeserved... gift... grateful... I yield... to the One who makes things grow...

Lord Jesus... grow grace... in me...
Not my version of... but Yours...
perfect in every way...
