Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

gray... is... NOT... ok...

This evening... after a full day... a service of ashes...

Ash Wednesday... the branches of Palm Sunday... burned as a reminder of Good Friday...

A time to contemplate sin... the need for rescue... the reason He chose to hang on a cross...

Head bowed... considering me... the confession it came...

Forgive me for being OK with gray...

Gray... light mixed with dark...

How many places do I compromise...? don't engage with a whole-heart...? concern myself with me... more than others...?

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you:
God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
If we claim to have fellowship with him
yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.
1 John 1:5-6
(emphasis added)

No darkness... is Light...
a half-truth... a lie...
a gray-life... a walk in darkness...

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
1 John 1:7
(emphasis added)

The reason... for the ashes... the Good... in the upcoming Friday...
a reminder... that He has work to do... in me...
and tonight... unexpectedly... a heart prepared...

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
Psalm 51:17

Thank You... Jesus...
