Develope a Palate

Develope a Palate
Daily intake of the Word nourishes the Spirit. Jeremiah's Menu is an exercise in recognizing God's Word made flesh in and around me. Eating the Word in a way that supplies the spiritual nutrients needed to grow. The Menu is offered with the hope of inspiring you to taste and see that the Lord is good. Bon Appetite!

Quote Du Jour

Quote du Jour
Christians may differ on a variety of points, but they have all one spiritual appetite; and if we cannot all feel alike, we can all feed alike on the bread of life sent down from heaven. At the table of fellowship with Jesus we are one bread and one cup. As the loving cup goes round we pledge one another heartily therein. Get nearer to Jesus, and you will find yourself linked more and more in spirit to all who are like yourself, supported by the same heavenly manna. ---Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

wait on Him... Isaiah 33:2...

O Lord, be gracious to us; we wait for you.
Be our arm every morning, our salvation in time of trouble.
Isaiah 33:2 ESV

Those who wait on the Lord...
know they need His grace...
His support...
His salvation...

With this self-knowledge of need...
comes an expectation grace...

The psalmist cries...
O Lord... be gracious to us...
we wait for You...

The psalmist reveals his knowledge of the Lord's grace...
His heart for the poor and needy...

Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high,
who looks far down on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people.
Psalm 113:5-8 ESV

The Lord is gracious to those who know their poverty... their need... apart from Him...

For those with such knowledge of the Lord...
a cry of confidence is heard...
O Lord... be gracious... I wait for You...
in need of Your strength each morning...
in need of Your salvation each trouble-filled day...

Do you know you are poor and needy apart from Him...?
How confident are you of His grace in your life...?
